Blockbuster Trade: Multan Sultans Bring Local Stars Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas Back Home

In a massive roster move ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, the Multan Sultans are thrilled to announce a blockbuster trade with the Quetta Gladiators. The agreement brings two homegrown talents back to South Punjab while exchanging two current roster players and securing a valuable salary purse increase.

Trade Breakdown

  • Multan Sultans Receive: Faisal Akram (Spinner), Arafat Minhas (All-Rounder)
  • Quetta Gladiators Receive: Ahmad Daniyal (Fast Bowler) and Jahanzeb Sultan (Batter).

Multan Boys Through and Through

The return of Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas perfectly aligns with the Sultans’ philosophy of building a world-class team deeply rooted in local talent. Both players are Multan boys through and through, having been born and raised in the city. Crucially, both are already intimately familiar with the franchise’s elite culture, having proudly represented the Sultans in previous PSL campaigns.

  • Arafat Minhas: A dynamic, hard-hitting all-rounder and a natural leader on the field, Arafat’s return is a massive boost for the squad’s balance. Coming back to the franchise where he first made waves is a homecoming that will undoubtedly thrill the local fans. He embodies the high-intensity, total cricket brand the Sultans are building.
  • Faisal Akram: The highly-rated left-arm wrist spinner is known for his incredible control and mystery variations. Having already experienced the Sultans’ dressing room early in his career, Faisal returns as a more mature, dangerous bowler ready to make a significant impact on his home turf.

Thank You, Ahmad and Jahanzeb

The Multan Sultans would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Ahmad Daniyal and Jahanzeb Sultan we wish them nothing but the absolute best in their new chapter with the Quetta Gladiators.

Note: Both teams will cover the full salary that was determined at the auction. I.e Quetta Gladiators will cover Ahmad Daniyal and Jahanzeb Sultan salary in full. As this is greater than the combined salaries of Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas, this will be subtracted from Quetta’s excess in purse.
